Retiring in Costa Rica

With inflation eating away your savings and the stock market dying, many retiree's are finding refuge in south America. One such country enjoying an influx of US retirees is Costa Rica.  The climate is more appealing to the aging and the cost of living is reaonable.  You can buy a very nice house or condo in Costa Rica to retire in at a fraction of what the same style living condition in the US.  You can get a maid and gardner and driver for less than $300 per month.  Taxes are non existent for the elderly and the health care is above third world status.

It is no wonder many people are retiring in Costa Rica.

Insurance and elder care concerns

Choose your options carefully as you reach retirement.

There are many elder care programs and insurance schemes that prey on the elder consumer.  Please research these companies before committing your hard-earned retirement nest egg.  A good choice is to call the Better Business Bureau and check for complaints filed by other retirees.  A little homework can save you money in the long run and make you golden years bright.

Make sure you have a rider for Medicare with a reputable company.  Many insurance companies do not want to pay their oblications to the elderly and costly litigation maybe necessary to collect on your promised elderly care coverage.
